The Miniature American Shepherd Club of Victoria does not sell puppies through the club. We can provide a list of breeders in Victoria that meet the MASCV code of ethics and health testing requirements.

Miniature American Shepherds originated in the United States during the 1960s, developed from smaller Australian Shepherds. The Miniature American Shepherd is smaller in stature, the ANKC standard outlines the size as between 14 inches and 18 inches for males and between 13 inches and 17 inches for females.

Miniature American Shepherds come in four colours: Red Merle, Blue Merle, Red and Black. They may also have tan points and/or white markings, and can be tailed or born with a natural bobtail.

The natural bobtail gene is present in the Miniature American Shepherd breed. When the gene is inherited from a bobtail parent it will produce a puppy that is born with a bobtail. Puppies born in Australia do not have their tails docked. The ANKC standard allows for both bobtails and full tails.
